I dumped ice into the legs of my shorts to cool down my muscles.
Helped a little bit. I ate straight salt as I bit into about 6 salt tablets at once not recommended and almost choked until Ironman boulder bike course was handed a full bottle of water from one of the support trucks which I drank down all at once.

The course is very, very flat.
